Job Description:  
Traveling Wind Technician Reports To: Regional Manager.

Responsible for site support, troubleshooting, maintenance and repair, and site inspections for a wind turbine operations and maintenance company by performing the following.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Provide on-site technical support to clients regarding set-up, safety, and O&M of equipment.
2. Use and enforce all company and customer mandated safety rules and equipment.
3. Complete all necessary customer and internal company paperwork (Service Reports, Time cards, etc.)
4. Repair and replace components as required.
5. Climb 300 feet or more.
6. Travel for extended periods of time to job sites.
7. Work weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.

Under direct supervision from higher level technical supervisory and/or management staff, the Technician I utilizes skills and training to perform maintenance and/or installation work on assigned wind turbines at a basic level.  The Technician I will follow specific schedules and procedures including safety protocol, turbine service and/or installation processes, and other direct and detailed verbal and written instruction.  The Technician I is regarded as the “entry-level” team member on the technician team and will have minimal customer interface.

Responsibilities
- Closely adheres to all safety standards and procedures. Identifies risks and gaps in safety execution in the operational environment and either stops work / escalates or implements defined and appropriate mitigation methods with appropriate oversight.  Demonstrates risk-averse safety behavior at all times.  Provides recommendations to higher level technical staff and management regarding everything safety.  Encourages and recognizes others completing safe acts and intervenes when unsafe acts are practiced.
- Demonstrates integrity, strong initiative, work ethic, as well as a focus on safety and quality of work on a continuous basis.
- Performs basic level wind turbine service and/or installation tasks as assigned. This includes introductory operation and use of tools and basic turbine equipment. Documents tasks where required and enters data into the company information system (e.g. SAP).
- Interfaces with customer at a minimal level; may respond to some basic customer inquiries and will refer most customer inquiries to higher level technical staff or manager. Demonstrates strong customer focus at all times.
- This role will require travel, working overtime, including working a flexible and variable work schedule as needed to meet business objectives.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum one (1) year’s experience working with hydraulic, electrical, mechanical and/or composite skills OR in absence of experience, a certificate of completion from an accepted Wind Technician program of equivalent scope.
- Experience using basic power and hydraulic tools.
- Valid Driver’s License and ability to obtain a Passport.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow directions with precise execution.
- Good interpersonal and customer relation skills.
- Able to effectively collaborate with employees at all professional levels and ability to respectfully follow supervision.
- Basic computer operation skills and familiarity with internet based program navigation.

- Prepare timely and concise reports regarding inspections to insure proper steps are taken to remedy any deficiencies;

- Be proactive in regards to wind turbine countermeasures or enhancements that may be needed and assist in the development of such procedures as required;

- Strive to keep maintenance costs low and quality high.

- Travel, as required, to assist other wind turbine facilities:

- Maintain parts inventory to include initiation or continuation of inventory stock and issuance system for spare parts and defective parts control and communication;

- Attend training courses, seminars, or “on the job” instruction as directed by the Company;

The Wind O&M Technician is responsible for monitoring the status of all generation station wind turbines, controlling generation to meet dispatch requirements, controlling routine plant operations, responding to alarms and abnormal conditions by taking appropriate corrective actions, and performs basic routine maintenance duties.  The WO&M TECH executes turbine shutdown and start-up procedures as required and assures that the station meets its generating requirements while operating in a safe and efficient manner.   On a temporary basis and as required, provide WO&M TECH support to other wind generating stations.  The WO&M TECH carries out these tasks in accordance with Plant Operating and Maintenance procedures and associated vendor and manufacturer technical procedures.

Qualifications:
- Ability to understand procedures and instructions specific to the area of assignment as would be learned in four years of high school is required.
- The ability to work from technical drawings, electrical diagrams, control circuitry diagrams, logic diagrams, and technical manuals is required.

Must have:

- The ability and attitude to work safely and ensure the safety of fellow workers in an environment with multiple safety challenges including heights, rotating equipment, high voltages and high hydraulic pressures.

- The ability to use diagnostic tools and hand and power driven tools

- Successful completion of a plant technical examination completed during the interview process

Wind Blade Repair Technician

Responsibilities:
Blade Repair Technician is responsible for wind turbine blades inspections, services or repairs. Using suspended platform technology, the candidate must access the wind blades from the wind turbine nacelle to check for damage and perform necessary repairs. Qualified candidate will be required to work in various wind farms across the United States. During times when no blade repair activities are scheduled, the technician will support wind turbine service activities which include, but are not limited to: gearbox and generator replacements, lubrication services and preventative maintenance.

Typical job deployments can last just a couple of days or may run as long as several weeks

Requirements:
Qualified candidate will have a minimum of 1 year experience in repairing wind turbine blades as well as wind turbine maintenance. Must be able to climb up to 250+ feet. Candidates should have some composite lamination experience as well as experience using polyester & epoxy resins. Leading tape experience a plus. Infusion and closed molding experience a plus. Composite Certified Technician is a different pay rate.
High School Diploma or GED required.
Valid Driver's License required.
