Job Description:

A pharmacy technicians  main duty is to distribute prescription medications to individuals.

- Compounding the medication is also a part of their day to day job duties, which is the mixing of the different ingredients to make the drug. Job duties can also include  to advise their customers about the drugs that are being prescribed to them, such as dosages, interaction with other drugs, potential side effects and to answer any other questions the patient may have.
- Pharmacy Technician also counsel their customers on the use of over-the-counter medicines, and can provide information on general health topics, including diet and exercise.
- Maintain records, such as pharmacy files, patient profiles, charge system files, inventories, control records for radioactive nuclei, and registries of poisons, narcotics, and controlled drugs.
- Provide specialized services to help patients manage conditions such as diabetes, asthma, smoking cessation, or high blood pressure.
- Collaborate with other health care professionals to plan, monitor, review, and evaluate the quality and effectiveness of drugs and drug regimens, providing advice on drug applications and characteristics.
- Prepare sterile solutions and infusions for use in surgical procedures, emergency rooms, or patients' homes

Description

Create and update patients health and demographic information in computer system.

Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalency degree. One year experience in Medical field preferred
- National Certification for Pharmacy Technician preferred
- Demonstrated skills or aptitude for learning sterile admixture/aseptic technique

Job description:

The Pharmacy Technician supports the Pharmacists by performing such duties as: selecting the correct drugs to fill an order and preparing the doses for checking by a Pharmacist. Experience in a hospital pharmacy setting is preferred, but not required.

This position is per diem/on-call, which means you are scheduled and/or called into work on an as-needed basis on variable shifts. We are a large specialty practice located in Concord looking for an experienced pharmacy technician. The ideal candidate would have previous experience dispensing pharmaceuticals from an office based pharmacy. The pharmacy tech position requires knowledge of prescription and giving verbal directions to patient. This position requires ability to multi-task, prioritize, and being detail oriented.
