JOB SUMMARY
Provide superior customer service to guests by maintaining overall safe and secure conditions inside and outside the hotel. Assist the front desk at both hotels in responding to guest needs and complaints.

SOME ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Ensures safety and security of hotel guests and employees by patrolling all parts of the properties (front and back-of-the-house) including guest hallways and activity areas such as pool and fitness areas, outdoor areas and parking lots.
2. Focuses on prevention by identifying potentially unsafe conditions or situations and responding effectively to prevent accidents, theft, damage, or other incidents.
3. Checks doors and stairwells to make sure locks are secure and no danger is lurking.
4. Responds to complaints and calls for help, and is prepared to rush to potentially dangerous situations and calm guests or control a situation until police can arrive.
5. Maintains and monitors security cameras, alarm systems and other electronic surveillance equipment.
6. Escorts undesirable people off the property, including loiterers or others who are not registered guests of the hotel.
7. Completes thorough reports of all shift activity in the Security Log and communicates situations that may require additional attention to the following shift. Responds to accidents or loss incidents and interviews guests and/or employees and completes detailed incident reports.
8. Participates in hotel safety program and observes safety procedures to maintain an accident free environment.
9. Participates in hotel fire and life safety program and responds to emergency situations including fire alarms, power failures, inclement weather and floods as needed.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Heavy work: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Must be able to hear, stand, bend, climb, balance, lift, carry, crouch, kneel and have a keen sense of visual acuity as required by job.

Position Summary:
The officer's position is a part-time, 12-month position that includes, but is not limited to, daily campus security and safety, special details, special events, athletic events, and related activities. A very good working knowledge and use of communications equipment along with the use of computer software applications such as school/personal e-mail, MS-Word, MS-Excel and access control is required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee additional contract staff for special events as required.
- Campus patrol and incident response, special event and detail assignments.
- Provide service to school students, staff, visitors and others on campus as needed.
- Complete and file accident and incident reports as necessary including photographs as necessary.
- Provide emergency first aid and medical/safety assistance as needed.

Starting Salary Range:
- $12.50 per hour, plus time and a half holiday pay for working holidays

Required Physical Characteristics:
- Ability to speak, hear and understand spoken English
- Ability to print or write English legibly and accurately along with performing standard filing and reporting procedures
- Ability to operate office equipment (i.e. copier, fax, computer, two-way radio, cell phone, etc.)
- Visual acuity of at least 20/40 (with corrective lenses if needed) to read and type
- Ability to work various shifts, holidays, weekends and perform general campus public safety duties as necessary
- Ability to work inside and outside during various weather and working conditions, sometimes being on foot an entire shift if necessary.
